My Love,
Happiest birthday to you, I hope that this was a unique present of what I’ve curated for you! There were so many things that I wanted to share, but was worried about how I’d put it all together. I like to reflect a lot on how the ideas I had that kept expanding outwards, and how similar it was to the Hubble-Lemaitre Law, or the confirmation by Astronomer Edwin Hubble in 1929 that the universe was really expanding.
Eventually I thought, “Well. I’m just gonna make a webpage out of all my thoughts.” and here we are. It’s the collection of what I at least know, and have gotten to know about you in the time I’ve met you. It’s amazing to feel that one day you meet someone, and even though you’ve known them for a short time, it feels as though you’ve loved them for a lifetime.
I feel that way when I think of you- how I’m captivated by your intelligence, how you think, view the world, and the ideas you share. Your quirks, uniqueness, and the subtle details that make you stand out. The essence of you is now a part of when I see and do things, I think to myself: “What would Chris’ perspective on this be?” “That reminds me of Chris.” “I can’t wait to tell Chris about this!” And what a wholesome feeling it is to know that the reminder of you is what brings so much love, safety, and happiness everyday. It’s knowing that because you’re “You,” that I’m so inevitably grateful that you exist in this world, and trust that in every other universe, every lifetime would bring me to you again and again to celebrate your birthday.
The experiences and characteristics of what has made you the individual you are, is something I hope is reflected in the design I’ve put together for you. I hope that it’s a reflection of how loved and known you are, and how deserving you are of good things. I hope it’s a reminder that you can always come back to this in case you feel self-doubt, and know that there’s always one person who sees how amazing you are. I hope it’s a reminder of how grateful I am that you were brought into this world, and there’s every reason to celebrate November 18th.
